Arun McGoay is 20. He is a four-time founder, currently running three businesses in parallel while leading a program inside a bank. His first company opened when he was 16.
Opelo is the one he has always wanted to build. An AI coach that listens to a musician as they play, understands their performance, and teaches in real time. Two years of research on a custom audio-and-agent pipeline. Launching 2027.
In parallel, Arun leads a program at J.P. Morgan on engineering standards and delivery stability. He writes the requirements and project plans, runs the analysis, designs the systems, and ships the code himself — strategy and engineering as one craft. He speaks occasionally; most recently on AI in payments: stability, resiliency, and what the next decade looks like.
Over the past year he has rebuilt his entire engineering practice around agents, orchestration, and intelligence-in-the-loop. Source control, architecture, testing, deployment — every layer re-designed for a world where humans and systems ship together. Arun has been teaching music since 16, first through Ribble Valley Piano in Lancashire and now through Bournemouth Music School, which he opened in 2025.
